Ottoway Engineering Pty Ltd were responsible for the Mechanical Erection of the Alstom Power Plant at Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations in West Australia. The project included installation of Turbines and Boilers, stacks, fans, steelwork structures, pipe rack and piping, pumps and associated miscellaneous equipment followed by testing and commissioning.
The Power Station produces all of the operation's electrical requirements by utilising waste steam from the acid plant to drive steam turbines attached to efficient generators.
During the construction phase approximately 45 personnel of varying trade skills were employed plus OE site management and administrative staff. Project Management and Quality/Administrative support was provided by the OE Head Office in Adelaide.
