Upgrade to Loxton Irrigation Pump Station
The project was won in open tender in January 2001 and completed in August 2002.
The project involved the installation of six new pumps of 1,000 litres/second capacity each, with all the associated civil works and pipework associated with the suction and discharge for the pumps, including a suction support structure in the river and twin 1200mm rising mains.
Other works included the provision of a high voltage electrical supply, full automation, SCADA and controls and station ventilation. The project was undertaken in 3 stages, with the existing pump station remaining in operation throughout each stage of the project.
